The cosmetic industry generates around €22.3 billion in Shared Value, 1.25% of the national GDP. The value created is significant and corresponds to the 26% of the textile industry’s production total value. Wealth goes beyond industry and it is distributed within the supply chain and to its various stakeholders. The system’s direct spin-offs (around 90%) are received by the State, workers, and other companies upstream and downstream of the supply chain. Overall, the Italian Cosmetic System produces €6.7 billion in tax contributions, 1.4% of total 2021 tax revenues, and €6.4 billion in wages, equivalent to 155,000 jobs in the supply chain
